A special message from Helena Foulkes, the National Chair of Go Red for Women
Genevieve Branco, HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital
Thank you for joining us at the 2018 Go Red for Women Luncheon. Just by being here, you are taking an important step in understanding your risk for heart disease and ways to prevent it.
I’d like for you to take a moment to think about the women in your life; your mother, daughter, sister, best friend, coworkers, the barista at your favorite coffee house, your neighbor. Think about the moments you spend with them and how important these relationships are. Now think about this. Approximately every 60 seconds a woman will die from heart disease. One of those women may be your mother, sister, best friend, you.
The fact is: Heart disease remains the No. 1 killer of women each year. But we can change that!
Knowledge is powerful medicine and Go Red for Women provides opportunities for women to learn the facts about heart disease, be advocates for change, inspire, and teach others how to live a heart healthy life.
As Director of Marketing Operations at HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital, I see the devastating effects of heart disease and stroke in our facility every day. I understand the need for more research, advanced technologies, access to preventative healthcare, and education so that one day we may say we beat heart disease.
So who is the woman you will fight for? Your mother, daughter, friend, neighbor, yourself? Join us in March at the Go Red for Women Luncheon and be a part of a sisterhood of women who fight with all their heart to ensure yours keeps beating healthy and strong.
